Michelle Monk, MSc. PT, BA (Hons)

Michelle graduated with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster
University and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and Health
Science with Honours from York University. 

Michelle is passionate about her career as a physiotherapist and is
committed to educating, advocating and supporting patients in their pursuit
of their optimal health and wellness.  She uses in depth assessment
techniques to formulate individualized treatment plans implementing a
variety of strategies such as myofascial release, manual therapy, patient
education, individualized exercise programs and various modalities
including, electroacupunture and K-Taping.  

Michelle is committed to ongoing professional development and takes numerous
physiotherapy related professional development course to maintain her
currency and enhance her knowledge base.  She has specialized in the John F.
Barnes Myofascial Release technique and uses this approach to treat various
conditions including: sports injuries, neck and back pain, sciatica, scar
release, headaches, temporalmandibular dysfunction (TMJ), disc disorders and
chronic pain to name a few.  Furthermore, Michelle is a Pelvic Floor
Physiotherapist.  She has specific training and experience treating women's
health issues including incontinence, pelvic pain, pregnancy and
post-pregnancy issues.
